Merianne RothMerianne Kimmel Roth was named TCU鈥檚 newest vice chancellor for marketing and communication. The career of Roth, currently associate vice chancellor, spans both corporate and community executive leadership roles that will be beneficial in leading the university鈥檚 Division of Marketing & Communication.鈥

鈥淗er impressive array of skills and brand expertise will be instrumental in TCU鈥檚 quest to enhance our national reputation, elevate TCU鈥檚 brand and further strengthen our community engagement efforts,鈥 said President Daniel W. Pullin.  

In her current role since 2019, Roth has championed strategic 
communications and integrated content development to tell the TCU story and enhance the TCU brand. As a team leader, she has invigorated TCU鈥檚 communication strategies in the areas of internal and external communications, social media and multimedia engagement, events and community projects, crisis and issues鈥痬anagement, and
TCU Magazine and the Endeavors research publication.鈥

鈥淚t鈥檚 been a privilege to be a part of the TCU team for the past five years, and I鈥檓 honored to serve as vice chancellor,鈥 said Roth. 鈥淭CU is a place of values, community and academic mission, and, thanks to our leadership, we鈥檙e entering a remarkable era of innovation and growth. I鈥檓 proud to have a role in building an even stronger future for our university and ensuring that a TCU education continues to benefit our students and the broader community. There鈥檚 no better time to be a Horned Frog.鈥 

Prior to鈥疶CU, Roth held leadership positions at JPS Health Network,鈥疪adioShack and Visit Fort Worth, among other鈥痥ey鈥痵trategic marketing and communication roles. She earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree from Mississippi University for Women and an Executive MBA from TCU. She is an active member of the Fort Worth community and has served on various boards, including the Fort Worth Forum and Fort Worth Country Day. 

Roth will begin her new role of vice chancellor June 1. This announcement comes after an extensive nationwide search that attracted a robust candidate pool from top-tier universities. The search was launched after from this position after nearly 25 years of dedicated service.  

鈥淎s a member of the president鈥檚 cabinet, the role of vice chancellor for marketing and communication is critical as we collaborate to develop TCU鈥檚 next strategic plan and even more so as we work to achieve our greatest aspirations and lead our university into the future,鈥 Pullin said. 鈥淢s. Roth鈥檚 vision for TCU鈥檚 marketing and communication strategies will play a pivotal role in how we connect with our current and prospective students,鈥痑lumni, faculty, staff and the broader community, while navigating the ever-evolving landscape of higher education.鈥
